I have been an organist since I began playing in two small churches in the mid-Funen area in 1985.
Studied thereafter at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam under Professor Hans van Nieuwkoop 1989-90. Took the diploma examination for sacred music from the Royal Danish Music Conservatory 1996 with Professor Hans Fagius as my teacher in more creative playing .
Master classes from – among others – Harald Vogel, David Sanger, Anders Bondeman, H.O. Ericsson and Jon Laukvik (organ), Lars Ulrik Mortensen (harpsichord) as well as improvisation studies under William Porter, Boston, USA, 1994.
Have given concerts as soloist/chamber musician for the last 20 years; all over Denmark and in Sweden, Germany, Holland, Austria, Italy, Spain, England, France, Poland as well as Japan, USA and Argentina.

Organ/Historical Concert
The “Organ/Historical Concert”, including a new composition – a concert guiding listeners through 400 years of Danish organ music and concluding with a first-time performance of a work by Povl Christian Balslev – a work connected specifically to your church. Short talks about the music along the way give the concertgoer a very special concert experience.

Art and Organ Music
“Art and Organ Music” … an exciting experience and a very unusual concept, where artist Maj-Britt Schultz paints a picture in the church, inspired by Povl Christian Balslev’s improvisations on the organ. If the audience wishes, they can choose which melodies should be part of the improvisation and hereby also influence the painting. This way the audience follows the process of both the music and the painting!
(Approx. 60 min. : fee DKK 8,000, the latter includes the painting.)

Hymns in untraditional form
“Hymns in untraditional form” – Hymn quartet with Espen Hansen, percussion, Ole Hansson, bass, Preben Dueholm, electric guitar and Povl Christian Balslev deliver en exhilarating concert with interpretations of new and old hymns – a sublime mix of good melodies, rhythm and improvisation!

Prisme
“Prisme” – an ensemble from southern Funen consisting of harp, violin, accordion and organ, played by musicians with both classical and folk music backgrounds. The repertoire includes simple and evocative music, primarily Nordic and Celtic folk tones, our own compositions and lyrical arrangements of Danish hymns, just as hymns sung together will be a natural part of the program.
